Dr. Tom C. Swanson, 52, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at his much loved home in Hondo, TX. Tom (AKA SurvivorBatman) was born on November 29, 1967 at Selfridge AFB, MI to David K. and Jo Ann C. (Tenney) Swanson . Tom graduated from Pulaski High School, Milwaukee, WI in 1985. Tom attended the MATC and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee prior to enlisting in the US Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1994. He received a BS in Computer Information Systems from University of Albany, SUNY in 1992, a MA in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University in 1994, and a PhD in Organizational Management, Information Technology from Capella in 2005. Tom was a devoted family man and was always there for his three children and his siblings. He had many interests; living in the country, fishing, hunting, playing games, traveling the world, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. He was living his dream life of spending time with his Domestic Partner DeLana riding his Harley, relaxing on beaches, taking cruises and teaching.
Tom had worked for Saros, FileNet and IBM in San Antonio, TX. At the time of his passing he was a college Professor at Western Governors University, Franklin University, and Grand Canyon University. .
Tom is deeply missed by his family: Partner, DeLana Baker, daughters; Sara R. Swanson {Vivian Miller) of Minneapolis, MN, Alyssa J. Swanson of San Antonio, TX and son Thomas D. Swanson (Chantal) of Bremerton, WA, mother, Jo Ann Williams (Bruce) of Oak Creek, WI, siblings; Sherry Swanson of Oak Creek, WI, Dave K Swanson of Choctaw, OK, DeLana’s two children who thought of him as a father: Daussen R. Baker, San Antonio, TX, Danika L Cameron, Hondo, TX, aunts, uncle, nephew, niece, great nephews, great niece, and cousins.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, David K. Swanson, grandparents; Carl V. and Muriel A. Swanson, Rose L. Mattson and Walter Tenney.
