Raymundo A. Guajardo, Jr.

Raymundo Abrigo Guajardo, Jr., age 79, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on March 17, 2026. Raymundo, also known by those close to him as “El Popeye”, was born in Hondo on December 6, 1946, to Rosa A. and Reymundo Guajardo, Sr.

Raymundo is preceded in death by his wife: Petra G. Guajardo; parents: Rosa and Reymundo Guajardo, Sr.; and sisters: Juana and Dora.

Raymundo is survived by his sons: Johnny Guajardo (Sylvia), and Ray “Moonie” Guajardo (Annie); daughters: Michelle Cuellar (Felimon), and Lisa Esquivel (Luis); sisters: Tina Hernandez (the late Pedro), Victoria DeLeon (the late Juan aka “Tank”), and Yolanda Morales (Joe); brother-in-law: David Garza (Letticia); 11 grandchildren: John, Juan “Jay”, Freddy, Teresa, Felipe, Fernando, Brandon, BJ, Daren, and Lilly; and 9 great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Nicolas, Kayson, Karsyn, Lakota, Vera, Freddy III, Evander, and Atticus.

A viewing will be held at Hondo Funeral Home on Saturday, March 21, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m., a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., and will conclude with interment at Hondo Cemetery.
