Paz G. Lara, Sr., of Hondo, Texas, age 81, passed away on April 8, 2020 in Hondo, Texas. Paz was born on January 24, 1939 in Hondo, Texas to Petro and Tomasa G. Lara.

Paz is preceded in death by his wife: Lucy Y. Lara; sons: Ernesto Ybarra, Gilbert Robert Lara, and Paz Lara, Jr.; daughter: Mary Cynthia Gonzales; and parents: Petro and Tomasa G. Lara.

Paz is survived by his spouse: Dolores Vargas; sons: Robert Jesse Lara (Linda), Petro Luciano Lara, and Reynaldo Lara; stepsons: Rene Vargas, and Max Vargas, Jr.; daughter: Teresa Rodriguez (Carlos); stepdaughters: Yvonne Vizcara (Manuel), Veronica Santoya (Juan), Dora Vargas (Alex), and Laura Soto (William); sister: Trinidad L. Hernandez; and brother: Juan Gonzales.

 A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Hondo Funeral Home.

Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.

Funeral services can proceed with immediate family members but should not exceed more than 10 people (this number is per CDC guidance as of Tuesday, March 17 and is in effect until further notice). Social distancing (six feet) should be observed as much as possible.
