Maria Margarita Gonzales

Maria M. Gonzales, age 73, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on May 20, 2024, in Hondo. Maria was born in Hondo, Texas on February 22, 1951, to Julia S. and Daniel G. Sanchez.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents: Daniel G. Sanchez and Julia S. Sanchez; brothers: Samuel Sanchez, Selso Sanchez, and Daniel Sanchez, Jr.; sister: Josephine Sanchez; and grandparents: Jacob and Juanita Sanchez, and Pablo and Aurora Sandoval.

Maria is survived by her loving husband: Emelio Gonzales, Jr.; daughters: Roxane Tapia (Steven), Josephine Campos (Javier), Patricia Bermea (David), Rachel Ybarra (Chris), and Jennifer Gonzales; sisters: Elena Garcia (Rogelio), Dorothy Moreno (the late Baldomar S.), and Juanita Sanchez (Pablo); brother: Santos Morales (Carol); 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 6:45 p.m., at Hondo Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Hondo Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.
