Rosa Lydia Tapia, age 76, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on November 7, 2022, in Hondo. Rosa was born in D’Hanis, Texas on December 15, 1945, to Julio and Porfiria Pimentel.
Lydia is preceded in death by her parents: Julio and Porfiria Pimentel; brothers: Jose Pimentel, Ignacio Pimentel, and Pedro Pimentel; and sister: Lucia Pimentel.
Lydia is survived by her son: Alfredo Tapia, III; daughters: Anna Barrios (Efrain), Laurie Morin (Rolando), Jessica Tapia (Fred Pargas), Melissa Sanford (Maston), and Julie Alfaro (Michael); sister: Carmen Gonzales (Enrique); brother: Guadalupe Pimentel (Vangie); 16 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by recitation of the rosary at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022, at St. John’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at St. John’s Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
