Julian Phil VanDamme

Julian Phil VanDamme, of D'Hanis, Texas, age 86, passed away on May 5, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Julian was born January 22, 1934 in Belgium to Emiel Joseph and Leona DeBaker VanDamme.

Julian is preceded in death by his wife: Katherine Theresa Echtle VanDamme; parents: Emiel Joseph and Leona DeBaker VanDamme; brother: Rene S. VanDamme; and son-in-law: Jimmy Smith.

Julian is survived by his sons: Mike VanDamme (Cindy) and Jerry VanDamme; daughters: Brenda Smith, Linda Contreras (Roger), and Sharon Ross (Joseph); and brother: Cyril VanDamme (Joyce); 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a rosary recited at  10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2020 in the main chapel at Hondo Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery.

The number of attendance during visitation will not be limited, although social distancing (six feet) should be observed as much as possible.

Graveside service will be limited to 10 people per the Archdiocese of San Antonio requirements.
