John Anthony Contreras, Sr., age 49, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on June 30, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. John was born in Hondo, Texas on January 16, 1976, to Maria Eva and Elisandro Contreras, Jr.
John is preceded in death by his beloved parents: Elisandro Contreras, Jr. and Eva Contreras.
John is survived by his son: John Anthony Contreras, Jr. ; daughter: Yesenia Garza; sisters: Pearl Tapia (Michael), Christine Ybarra, and Dolores Correa; brothers: Elisandro Contreras, III (Laura), and Art Contreras; grandchildren: Delilah, Dakotah, Maisie, and Ivan; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A visitation will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church on Monday, July 7, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m., Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., and concluding with interment at Hondo Cemetery.
Services are under the Direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
