Joe Ray Urrutia

Joe Ray Urrutia, age 57, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on August 7, 2026. Joe was born in Hondo on April 7, 1969, to Jose F. Urrutia and Oralia Martinez.

Joe is preceded in death by his father: Jose Felix Urrutia; brother: Reynaldo Lopez; sister: Debra Lemus; stepfather: Joe Martinez, Sr.; and grandparents: Reyes and Gregoria Urrutia, and Alfredo Tapia, Sr., and Josefina Hernandez.

Joe is survived by his son: Ray Anthony Urrutia; daughters: Justine Urrutia, Alison Urrutia, and Abigail Urrutia; mother: Oralia Martinez; sisters; Marlene Fuentes (Joshua), and Jo Ann Valles (Elijio); brothers: Hector Rodriguez, Wayne “Tony” Urrutia (Priscilla), Joe Albert Martinez, Jr., and James Martinez (Mandalyn); and 6 grandchildren: Adelina Urrutia, Anahy Chavez, Aiden Chavez, Joseph Chavez, Jon Warren, and Georgie Urrutia.

A visitation will be held at Hondo Funeral Home on Friday, August 14, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a eulogy at 2:00 p.m., and will conclude with interment at Hondo Cemetery.
