Jesus Rodolfo Moreno, Sr.

Jesus Rodolfo Moreno, Sr., lovingly known as Rudy, age 75, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on May 25, 2025. He was born in Río Bravo, Coahuila, Mexico, to Rodolfo and Rosa Moreno.

Rudy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rodolfo and Rosa Moreno, and his beloved son, Rudy Moreno Jr.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Moreno; his son Ricardo Moreno (Christy); and Paul Arredondo. He is also survived by his siblings: Gloria Cardenas, Isabel Moreno Orta (Mike), Irene Garza, Mary Lou Rodriguez (Arnold), Nancy Gonzales, Ramon Moreno (Diana), Robert Moreno, and Rogelio Moreno.

Rudy was a proud grandfather to Rick Dylan Moreno (Monica), Rick Vincent Moreno, Diamond Moreno, Logan Moreno, Brejette Villa, Austin Garcia- Moreno, and Andre Garcia. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren.

Rudy will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong character, and the legacy he leaves behind through those who loved him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Hondo Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, May 29, 2025, a Funeral Service will be held at Hondo Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude with interment at Hondo Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. John's Parish Hall immediately following interment.
