Jana J. Ross

Jana Jeanelle Ross, 47, of Spring Lake, NC, passed away unexpectedly in her home on 20 November 2025.

Born May 3, 1978, in San Antonio, TX, she was the daughter of Dena and Gary Stripling and the late Donald Scott.

Jana met Michael A. Ross in January 2017, and they were married six months later on 17 July 2017 in San Antonio, TX.

Jana attended the Robert E. Lee high school in San Antonio and worked as a hospice care giver in the greater San Antonio area. Jana enjoyed traveling with Michael, as the United States Army moved them to Las Vegas, NV in 2019 and later to Spring Lake, NC in 2022. During their travels, they explored dozens of cities together. Jana possessed a deep sense of love and commitment to her family and friends and will be forever missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Ross of Belmont, NY; three step daughters Alexandria Ross, Jada Ross, and Brooke Ross of Franklinville, NY; a brother Trey Scott of San Antonio; 3 sisters Kandice Ferguson and Katy Stone of Oklahoma City, OK, and Yvonne Huntley of San Antonio; 3 cousins Kyle Williams, Brandon West, and Keely Johnson; and 6 nephews and nieces.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Hondo Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to noon, followed by a funeral service at noon, and concluded with interment at Hondo Cemetery.
