Jan Marie Quintana

Jan Marie Quintana, born February 8th, 1964, passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 3rd, 2024. Born in Arkansas to parents Glenda Pepper and Roy Sims, she is preceded in death by both her parents and sister, Susan Garza. She is survived by her step-father, John Pepper; husband: Luis Quintana, brothers:Glenn Sims (Becky), Allen Sims (Terri), and Harold Sims (Milos); Children: Aimee Garcia (Nathan), Aaron Quintana, and Allex Quintana; Grandchildren: Tex, Isla, Roseleigh, and Alexandria. She also leaves behind nephews: Wade, Clayton, Carter, and R.J. 

Jan spent her early years in Arkansas and found her way to Texas in her mid-twenties. She raised her three children in the Hondo/Yancey area, where they currently reside. She spent many years of her career in Hondo, working for the Sheriff’s Department as the Jail Administrator. When she wasn’t working, she spent as much time as she could, as “Ya-Ya,” with her grandchildren and found ways to show how much she cared for her family by cooking meals and baking treats like chocolate pecan pies and carrot cakes. She will be dearly missed by everyone. 

Memorial gathering to be held from 9-11 a.m. at the Hondo Funeral Home on Monday, March, 11th, 2024.
