Irene Cuellar

Irene Cuellar, age 88, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on April 13, 2022, in Hondo, Texas. Irene was born in Hondo on April 19, 1933, to Celia and Bictor Ybarra.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband: Guadalupe Cuellar; sons: Lupe Cuellar, Jr., and John Henry Cuellar; 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Irene is survived by her sons: Robert Cuellar (Lilia), Rudy Cuellar, Anselmo Cuellar (Dora), and Andrew “Ajax” Cuellar; daughter: Eva Munroe (Pete Ybarra); sisters: Lola Guajardo, and Carmel Martinez (Rufino); 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers: John “Gabe” Cuellar, John Isaak Cuellar, Rick Cuellar, Steven Valles, David Sanchez, and Bobby Cuellar

Honorary Pallbearers: Adelita Valles, Anselmo Cuellar, Jr., Joseph Duffy, and James Cuellar

A visitation will be held at Hondo Funeral Home on Friday, April 15, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Hondo Funeral Home, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
