Hortencia Reyes, age 77, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on August 8, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Hortencia was born in Hondo on August 13, 1944, to Josefa and Juan Contreras.
Hortencia is preceded in death by her son: Narciso Reyes; parents: Juan and Josefa Contreras; sister: Juanita Mendoza; and brothers: Ramon Contreras, Lupe Contreras, and Ramundo “Mundo” Contreras.
Hortencia is survived by her loving husband: Henry Reyes, Sr.; sons: Pete Morales, III (Julia), Henry Reyes, Jr., and Paul Reyes; daughter: Lupe Rodriguez (Louis); sister: Maria Wiggins (Doug), and Aurelia Chavez (the late Tomas); brothers: Leonardo “Roro” Contreras (Olga), and Juan Contreras (Maria Morin); 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by recitation of the rosary at 9:30 a.m., and funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow immediately after at Hondo Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
