Griselda Marie Trevino

Griselda Marie Trevino, 54, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, in San Antonio after a courageous battle with cancer.

Griselda Marie Trevino was born on October 15, 1971, in Hondo, Texas, to Armando and Margie Gonzales. She married her junior high sweetheart, David Trevino, Jr., in 1989. Together they shared 36 years of marriage and built a family centered around love and loyalty as they raised their two sons, Derek and Brandon Trevino. Griselda’s greatest joy was being a grandmother to her five grandchildren: Dane, Paislee, Bradley, Dylan, and Brayden. They were her pride and joy, and she was their biggest cheerleader—rarely missing a school event, sporting event, or opportunity to simply be there.

Griselda was fiercely independent, strong, selfless, and always unapologetically herself. A true fashionista, she was rarely seen without the perfect outfit and jewelry to match. She loved deeply, protected fiercely, laughed often, and wasn’t afraid to tell you exactly what she thought. She was happiest surrounded by family, especially at the beach or river. Above all, Griselda showed up. She was present for the people she loved, especially when they needed her most. Her life was taken far too soon, but the love she poured into her family and the many friendships she built will live on. She was a bright light in so many lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Griselda was preceded in death by her father: Armando Gonzales; grandparents: Joe and Rosa Gonzales; Rudy and Janie Gonzales

Griselda is survived by her mother: Margie Gonzales; husband: David Trevino, Jr.; sons: Derek (Kaci) Trevino and Brandon (Amber) Trevino; brother: Rick (Melissa) Gonzales; sister: Cordelia (Luis) Salmon; five grandchildren: Dane, Paislee, Bradley, Dylan and Brayden as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Hondo Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Services will conclude at the Funeral Home.
