Fidelina "Lila" Peraza de Hernandez

Fidelina “Lila” Peraza de Hernandez, age 85, of Devine, Texas, passed away on November 30, 2023, in Devine. Lila was born in Venezuela on April 30, 1938, to Manuel Peraza and Fidelina Galindo de Peraza.

Lila is preceded in death by her husband: Pedro Antonio Hernandez Lopez; parents: Manuel Peraza and Fidelina Galindo de Peraza; and siblings: Manuel, Isabel, Alida, and Winston Peraza.

Lila is survived by her sons: Father Antonio Xavier, Francisco Jose (Betty), Pablo Luis (Maria Gabriella), and Pedro Ignacio (Maria Guadalupe); daughters: Helena (Luis), and Maria Isabel (Bernard); sisters: Petty Colmenares, and Carmen Elena (“Nena” Rodriguez (Fernando); 6 Garcia Hernandez grandchildren, 3 Hernandez Lizardi grandchildren, 5 Bujard Hernandez grandchildren, and 2 Hernandez Colombo grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews who were very dear to her heart.

Lila touched the lives of many people throughout her life. To know Lila, was to know you were loved. She made a difference with her presence and caring spirit. She had a strong faith in God, and an unwavering love for Mary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made towards the building fund of St. Joseph's Chapel Project.

A visitation will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. followed by recitation of the rosary at 9:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held following Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery.
