Evangelina Ramirez Escamilla, age 80, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on July 5, 2020 in Hondo, Texas. Evangelina was born in Lytle, Texas on August 8, 1939 to Juan C. Ramirez and Felice Peche Ramirez.
Evangelina is preceded in death by her father: Juan C. Ramirez, mother: Felice P. Ramirez Menchaca, and stepfather: Arnulfo Menchaca.
Evangelina is survived by her loving husband: Reyes C. Escamilla, son: James R. Escamilla; daughters: Grace Escamilla De Leon (Oscar) and Patricia Escamilla Valenzuela (Joe); sisters: Dora Basaldua (Adam), Mary Helen Mungia (Joe), and Enidelia Dominguez (Soylo); brother: Juan R. Ramirez (Martha), and grandchildren: Megan Felicia De Leon, Zachary James De Leon, Isabella Jace Valenzuela, and Arianna Rae Valenzuela.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with rosary recited at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at St. John’s Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at St. John’s Catholic Church.
An interment will follow at Hondo Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
