Elifonso Correa, Jr.

Elifonso Correa, Jr., age 69, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2026. Elifonso was born in Hondo on June 19, 1962, to Alicia and Elifonso Correa, Sr.

Elifonso is preceded in death by his wife: Joanne Correa; father: Elifonso Correa, Sr.; grandmother: Carmen Benavides; Juan Alvarado, Lonnie Gonzalez, Maria Navarro, and Adam Gonzalez.

Rene is survived by his sons: Elifonso Correa, III (Veronica), Johnathan Correa, Lonnie Correa, and Michael Correa (Roxanne); daughters: Geneva Aguilar, and Michelle Lopez (Kris); sisters: Roxanne Ytuarte, Marivel Sanchez (Johnny), Cynthia Turruviate (John), Ernest Correa, Eliazar Alvarado (Belma); brothers: Steve Correa, Richard Correa, Florentino Correa (Fabiola), and Jesse Correa (Frances); and several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Hondo Funeral Home on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The family will gather for lunch at the American Legion after services, and welcomes all friends, family and acquaintances to join them.
