Charles Robert Campbell

Charles Robert Campbell, age 78, passed away on March 4, 2024. 

 Charles is preceded in death by his father: Robert Campbell. 

 He is survived by his spouse: Brigitte Campbell; his stepchildren: Carl Ryan and Carol Sue Ryan; his daughters: Heidi Friesenhahn, Gidgette Bernal, Charlene Campbell, and Rylee Campbell; as well as his grandchildren: Madison, Bryce, Mackenzie, Braden, Sofia, Olivia, and Ozzy.

 Charles Robert Campbell, a proud Texan, was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, on May 20, 1945. He served his country with dedication and valor as a navy seal until his honorable discharge with the rank of a E6 in 1971, proudly contributing his service during the Vietnam war.

 Charles often reflected on his time on Vietnam with gratitude, considering himself fortunate to have returned home safely.

 In the course of his life, Charles found love and companionship in Brigitte Campbell, his beloved wife of 44 years. Together, they built a family filled with love and cherished moments. Charles embraced his role as a father with joy, finding immense fulfillment in his children and later as "papa" in his grandchildren. His presence brought warmth and happiness to his family, and his love knew no bounds.

 Charles enjoyed spending cherished moments with his children and grandchildren amidst the beauty of the outdoors, his passion for family, coupled with his love for the outdoors, created lasting memories for generations to come. 

 Charles Robert Campbell will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. His legacy of love, dedication, and joy will continue to inspire those whose lives he's touched.

 A visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a funeral service starting at 2:00 p.m., at Hondo Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, beginning at 2:15 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, shelter #3.
