Charles Glenn Bragg

Charles Glenn Bragg passed away on June 14, 2025, at the age of 86. Glenn was born on November 27, 1938, in Santa Anna, Texas, to Owen and Hazel Mae Bragg. He was married to JoLynn McWilliams on July 5, 1963, celebrating 62 years of marriage. He was a proud father and grandfather; son David Bragg, wife Tammy, and granddaughters, Jennifer Bragg Ruiz (Heath Ruiz), and Amanda Bragg; and daughter Shelly Bragg Malatek, husband Greg, and grandsons, Garrett and Will Malatek.

Glenn graduated from Texas A&M University in 1961. He served in the Army as a military police officer before starting a career as a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent for Medina County. Continuing his education, Glenn received his Master’s from Texas A&M in 1971. He was a successful entrepreneur and business man. After retiring from the Extension Service, he started his own businesses. First, Bragg Irrigation and then Bragg Pecan Farms where he established his own pecan orchards, buying, selling, and shipping pecans all over the United States and the world. His pecans received numerous local, area, regional, and state awards for their excellence. He served as a director of the Texas Pecan Growers Association and the Hondo Area Chamber of Commerce. In 1997, he was awarded Business Person of the Year. As a lifelong member of the Methodist Church of Hondo, Glenn served as a youth group leader and on multiple church committees.

Glenn was also an avid fisherman and loved fishing with family and friends. He loved games of every kind, but even more, he enjoyed sharing a laugh with everyone around him.

A visitation will be held at Hondo Methodist Church beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., and will conclude with interment at Hondo Cemetery.
