Catherine Taylor

Catherine Woolls Taylor, age 91 of Hondo, Texas passed away May 6, 2020.  She was born on December 31, 1928 in Hondo, Texas to Newell and Glee Woolls. 

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Blanton Taylor, her parents Newell and Glee Woolls, her sisters, Frances Hartung, Margaret Henry, and her brothers Newell “Bud” Woolls and Clayton “Butch” Woolls.   

Catherine is survived by her daughter Cathy Walker of San Antonio, Texas, Jo Beth Darington and her husband E.J. “Buddy” Darington of Marrero, Louisiana and her sons, Tommy Taylor of Hondo, Texas and David Taylor and his wife Annette Taylor of D’Hanis, Texas.  Catherine was a proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. 

Catherine was a special lady that will be missed by many, especially her family and friends, and her amazing girlfriends that gathered for cards and the library group that she shared her passion for reading and books with.  

A celebration of Catherine’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Hondo Public Library, 2003 Ave. K, Hondo, Texas, 78861, Attn:  Elsie Purcell.  Please include “in memory of Catherine Taylor”.
