Benito Rene Espinoza

Benito “Benny” Rene Espinoza, age 57 passed away peacefully March 14th, 2026. He was born February 26th, 1969, in Hondo, Texas to Sophia and Roberto Espinoza.

Benny had a love for life and adventure. He enjoyed playing sports as a child and into adulthood. Football, basketball, track. You name it Benny did it and excelled. After high school, he enlisted into the Navy. Traveling places such as Thailand, Hong Kong, Hawaii and many more. After being honorably discharged from the Navy Benny continued his services while serving in the Navy Reserve located in San Diego, CA. After returning home, any job Benny encountered he excelled at. He had a love for dancing, friends, family, and his grandchildren. If you needed help or just a listening ear, he was that person.

Benny is preceded in death by mother Sophia Espinoza, paternal grandmother Beatrice Espinoza, and maternal grandparents José and Maria Munoz.

Benny is survived by his father Roberto Espinoza, daughters Stephanie Espinoza, Ashley Martinez, Jordan Martinez, son Patrick Sipple, brother Michael Espinoza (Edna), and 5 grandchildren, Aiden Espinoza, Emmalee Espinoza, Wyatt Belor, Avery Garza, and Luka Garza.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 9:30 a.m., and will conclude with Mass at 10:00 a.m.

Services are under the Direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
