Agapito L. Benavides, Jr.

Agapito Lopez Benavides, Jr., age 78, of Hondo, passed away on September 7, 2026, in Hondo, Texas. He was born December 6, 1947, in Hondo, Texas to Angelita and Agapito Benavides, Sr.

Agapito is preceded in death by his son: Dino Benavides; parents: Angelita and Agapito, Sr.; and granddaughter: Cassandra Benavides.

Agapito is survived by his beloved friend: Olga Bernal; daughters: Sandy Ytuarte (Rudy), Jeanne Jasso (Pedro Saldivar, III), Laura Molina, and Mandy Benavides (Eloy Saldivar, Sr.); brothers: Robert Benavides (Janie), and Ernesto Benavides (Lydia); 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nephews.

A visitation will be held at Hondo Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m., with recitation of the Rosary at 9:30 a.m., followed by procession to St. John’s Catholic Church for Funeral Mass which begins at 10:30 a.m. Services will conclude with interment at Hondo Cemetery.
