Elias Gauna, age 59, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on October 5, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. Elias was born in Hondo on September 22, 1962, to Maria and Abelino Gauna.
Elias is preceded in death by his parents: Abelino and Maria Gauna; his brother: Gilberto Gauna, Sr.; and his sister: Maria Elena Garza.
Elias is survived by his loving wife: Ana Velia Gauna; sons: Elias Gauna, Jr., and Eden Gauna; daughter: Alysa Gauna (Derrick Alarcon); sisters: Janie Strickland, and Rosa Linda Johnston; brothers: Jose Gauna (Yolanda), and Mario Gauna; and grandchildren: Eljay, Eliana, Elias III, and Alani.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by interment at Yancey Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
